Landlord Grants Small Business Council Debtors Rights

Opportunities for obtaining grants do exist, but it should be understood that obtaining them is rarely quick and easy. It is also tied more toward the funding agency that wishes to support than to what the recipient wishes to do.

Perspectives on Grants

Some people see grants as a "lottery ticket" solution to their lives, only the odds are better. The truth is that obtaining and stewarding grants and other philanthropic gifts requires hard work and dedication to the missions supported by a donor's "investment in the future." Also, there are far more grant opportunities for nonprofit organizations and public entities (e.g. counties, cities, school districts, economic development councils) than for individuals and for-profit businesses.

Having started with a word of caution, it is true also that grants frequently give the spark of life needed for a good idea to transcend from idea into reality. For example, Small Business Infrastructure Research (SBIR) grants are provided by a number of federal agencies, enabling small businesses with fledgling concepts to obtain the resources needed to refine, test, and finally market beneficial products.
